Homestay in 加拿大 － Langford
Room for Rent in beautiful family home backing on to forest. Please read entire ad; “is this available” messages will not be answered.
About us:
- I am a single mom of two young neurodiverse children.
- The children live in the home Monday afternoon-Friday midday, and one weekend per month.
- Our weekday schedule has us up early and out the door by 7am.
- I work from home.
- Then between 3-7pm we are back in the communal space, with staff members present doing therapies with the kids, tv, dinner etc.
- We ask that there are no guests in the house between these afternoon weekday hours (3-7pm).
- After 7pm the entire downstairs is rarely used by my family.
- On weekends, I sometimes host small social gatherings, but mostly I keep to myself, the backyard in the summer and my own bedroom.
About the room:
- $1,000 per month, $500 damage deposit.
- All Utilities & Internet Included (tv includes Netflix, Prime, Disney and Crave)
- Partially furnished room (queen size murphy bed, mattress, room storage, room desk, tv). Just bring your towels, bedding, and personal items!
- Cleaning Supplies, Laundry Supplies, Household supplies (ie toilet paper, paper towel) included due to allergies
- biweekly housekeeping included
- Exclusive use of separate fridge/freezer
- Designated pantry space
- shared use of fully furnished kitchen,living room, and yard.
- shared bathroom with bath/shower, and designated storage for roommate (only shared when the children in the home - this is a mostly tenant bathroom)

- The room for rent, kitchen, living room, dining room, powder room and laundry are all on the main floor. Upstairs is shared shower/bathtub bathroom combo, along with my room and the children’s rooms.
About you:
- Our ideal renter is up early too (or can sleep with earplugs ) and is not bothered by the noise of kids in the mornings, afternoons, the one weekend a month, and holidays off school.
- Room is suitable for a single occupant only.
- No cigarette smokers.
- No heavy substance users.
- There are allergies in the house to fragrances and scents, which is why laundry soap and cleaning supplies are included (aka no scented laundry products, cleaning products and please no excessive perfumes or colognes).
- We have a cat, a dog and chickens. We may POSSIBLY consider a tenant with a dog, but it would need to be an ideal fit. (And pet deposit would be additional to damage deposit).
- Must be tidy and clean up after yourself (leave the shared space as you found it).
- Good/safe with kids. (Willing to have a Criminal Record check done, as there are vulnerable children in the home).
A perfect candidate would be willing to help out around the house with jobs like shovelling snow, or taking out the recycling. They would want to be part of a shared home situation, and not feel like they have to hide out in their bedroom whenever we are around.
