We are a retired couple who live in the suburbs of Saanich with our adorable little dog who is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Our home is centrally located close to shopping, Camosun College Interurban Campus, lakes, buses, walking trails and the Commonwealth Pool Rec Center. We are experienced homestay hosts, have been hosting for many years and we enjoy having students in our house. We love sharing Canadian culture with our students and we also like learning about their culture and traditions.
We both have travelled through Europe, Egypt, Canada, United States, Mexico and the Western Caribbean. We love camping and have a small motorhome for touring our island and Western Canada and Western U.S.A. We also love the outdoors and we spend a lot of the summer camping in our Seasonal RV at East Sooke.
Carson is interested in cars and world affairs while Mary is interested in painting, photography, birdwatching and cooking.
If you are interested in having us provide meals we are open to discussing that with you.
We don't have a lot of strict rules for our house but we ask you to respect our home as well as other guests we may have in the house. We like you to make time for your studies as you have travelled a long way to study and also to allow time to see our city and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty. Usually we discuss rules with our students and come to some guidelines that are agreeable for all.
